ProSensing has developed a compact a solid state Ka-band Scanning Polarimetric Radar (KASPR) for mobile and fixed site applications. Key features of the instrument include: 10 or 100 W Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA), 1.8 m diameter parabolic dish antenna with dish-dome, fast polarization and receiver protection switch network and an arbitrary transmit waveform generator. KASPR also includes an integrated noise source and ambient load for continuous monitoring of receiver gain and noise figure. All the radar electronics are housed in two dry air pressurized, thermoelectric cooled/heated enclosures mounted on the pedestal side arms.
